OOC History[]

Dervish was Rhekarid's second character. The character's final record was 3 wins and 3 losses, which would remain the creator's best until the tenth submitted character, Permanence. This status would lead to later references and remakes, including The Collectors, a never-submitted remake, and The Blood Man. The character sheet and portrait are currently lost.

Character Biography[]

Dervish is a formerly human madman, obsessed with the value and purity of blood. He viewed it similarly to the way most people view the soul, as a reflection of all the inherent worth and essence of a person, with every drop being an utterly unique work of art. With this stance he was appalled at the way people spilled and wasted each other's blood, and at the way age and disease gradually corrupted it. In order to "save" the blood, he traded everything he owned to have his body altered, but was not wealthy or knowledgeable enough to be "correctly" altered, further compounding the situation by having the process done by as many doctors possible by any means necessary. He became a cybernetic abomination, optimized for the single purpose of extracting every speck of blood from as many people as possible.

The character was later reworked and submitted into a theme contest as The Blood Man, becoming less of a frenzied berserker and more of a shadowy bogeyman-type figure, calmly observing people from a distance and waiting for their blood to reach its "prime" before harvesting it.

Powers and Abilities[]

Dervish was named for the nature of his powers, as his physical enhancements revolved entirely around speed and damage. His electronic reflexes were extremely quick, and countless bladed weapons were surgically attacked to his body, represented by ultimate level Super Speed and Natural Weaponry. With this combination he could virtually atomize an opponent, gathering all of their blood in the process.
